How to get Free Web Space and Links for Texas Clear Lake Community

1. Free Web Space!

   Introductory offer! Five megs of free web space -

   Available for use by qualified individuals and companies on the Texas Clear Lake Community web site. This space is subject to the terms and conditions on our T&C's page. Requires a minimum of two exchange links back to the Texas Clear Lake Community home page. One link should be on your home page, and another can be on a page of your choice. A typical place for your second link is on a page that gives your favorite sites to visit. The icon is linked by you to bring people back to our home page. This helps generate traffic for everyone. The free space includes one free link from our business or personal directory, or a community directory of your choice. Presenty free space is available for individuals and businesses in the Clear Lake area, and a minor charge may apply to other requestors. You won't know, unless you ask! 2. Free Links!

   One free link -

   Included with every free 5 meg introductory site. Additional links require two exchange links per each link from Texas Clear Lake Community. NetGold and Texas Clear Lake Community reserve the right to limit the number of free links that can be established to two (2).

   
   
3. Examples:

   To use the introductory 5 FREE meg at Texas Clear Lake Community -

   *You have a restaurant business (example only, as it could be any business or personal use)

   *Register with Texas Clear Lake Community to use introductory 5 meg free space.

   *Texas Clear Lake Community sets up a directory for you to use on the site, and assigns you an address.

   *You set up 5 pages (example) about your business on your free web site.

   *You select to have a link from the Texas Clear Lake Community restaurant listing directory to your web site.

   *Per our terms, you place one Texas Clear Lake Community icon (see icon at right) on your home page (a required location) and one on your map page (a total of two on your site).

   *We confirm your placement of the two icons (with links) back to Texas Clear Lake Community and set up a link for you from the restaurant directory.

   *Then people seeing your name in the restaurant directory can click on your name and go directly to your web site.

   *People on your site can click on one of our icons and return to Texas Clear Lake Community.

   To use an additional link from Texas Clear Lake Community

   You want more Traffic and decide to add a link from your listing in the alphebetical business listing on Texas Clear Lake Community to your business site.

   *You advise us of your request to add another link to your site from the main business directory by e-mail, fax, phone or mail.

   *You set up two links (with icons) on your site back to Texas Clear Lake Community, one from your Menu page, and one from your Interesting Links page.

   *We confirm your placement of the two new icons with links back to Texas Clear Lake Community and set up a link for you from the master business directory.

   *People can now go directly from two Texas Clear Lake Community directories to your web site.

   *People can now return to Texas Clear Lake Community from one of four icons on your site.

   
   
4. How to do it:

   Registering

   *Go to the Comments page on the NetGold or Texas Clear Lake Community site.

   *Fill in all the requested information.

   *We will confirm the information.

   *Within 5 working days we will respond confirming (or not) your use of the website.

   *You will be assigned a directory and name for your website.

   Developing your site

   *You can develop your site yourself if you wish, or you can contract NetGold (or someone else, and we would appreciate your business) to build and install your site.

   *Copy (or have us provide a copy) the Texas Clear Lake Community icon (icontxcl.gif) from our directory to yours. This icon needs to be in the same directory, or sub-directory, as the page that will be using it. If you have sub-directories, you may need to copy the icon to more than one directory (there are ways to program around this, and if you aren't that familiar with HTML code yet, it is simpler to just copy it to more than one directory).

   *Incorporate the icon by inserting the following code in your HTML documents exactly as shown:

   NOTE: While this may show up as two or more lines on your computer, it is actually typed as one line.

   IMPORTANT: The blue underline bars indicate where there should be spaces.

   *The icon will show up on the right side of your screen when your final document is viewed with a web browser such as Netscape. Other locations are possible, contact us if you need assistance.

   Finishing your Site

   *Transfer your documents to the directory assigned by NetGold, using a compatible file transfer program, such as Cute-FTP or WS-FTP.

   *When you have installed your pages on the website, contact us to confirm the links from your site to Texas Clear Lake Community, and transfer your web pages to your community web address.

   *A link will be established from the directory of your choice to your site.

   *You're in business!
